Transforming Agriculture for Global Health
At ArtemiFlow USA, agriculture is at the heart of our mission. We are transforming former tobacco fields into flourishing farms of Artemisia annua, the plant that produces artemisinin. This not only revitalizes local economies but also contributes to the global fight against infectious diseases.
Advanced American Agriculture Meets Traditional Crops
Since 2017, we have been working closely with the University of Kentucky Tobacco Research & Development Center to optimize the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of Artemisia annua. By employing advanced agricultural techniques, we have successfully adapted this traditionally Chinese-grown crop to the fertile soils of Kentucky.
Our field trials have demonstrated promising results, with the initial planting of about 15 acres yielding high artemisinin content. The positive impact on local farmers has been significant, as we provide them with new opportunities and resources. We are receiving increasing interest from farmers eager to participate in cultivating Artemisia annua, seeing it as a profitable and sustainable alternative to traditional crops.
Community and Environmental Benefits
By converting former tobacco fields into Artemisia annua cultivation sites, we are promoting healthier communities and sustainable agricultural practices. We are proud to support local economies and foster community development through our agricultural initiatives.
